Terms and Conditions

PAYMENTS

Payment for workshops is required in full in advance to secure the places booked. Any places booked but not paid for either over the phone or by cheque within a reasonable period maybe lost.
Payment for Parent Sessions, Family Sessions and Home Visits is due following the session and can either be settled on the day or by invoice.
Payment for Parenting Skills Courses is invoiced at the start of the course and may either be paid in full or in installments over the duration of the course to an agreed schedule.
For advanced bookings a deposit of £50 will be taken to secure the place(s).
Acceptable forms of payment. We accept cash, personal cheques, maestro, Visa and Mastercard. Credit Card payments can be taken over the phone

CANCELLATION:

1. Course or session canceled by Dealing with Challenges.

In the event that we have to cancel a session Dealing with Challenges will endeavour to give a minimum of 48 hours notice and the Client will be entitled to a full refund or any payments made may be credited towards further sessions.
2. Courses cancelled by the Client.
A. Workshops. For cancellations made 48 hours or more before the scheduled start of the event the client will receive a full refund or any payments made may be credit towards future sessions. For cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to the start of the workshop no refunds are available and any money paid will not be available as a credit.
B. Cancellation of Parenting Skills Classes.
One or more sessions.
We would ask all clients to inform us in the event that they cannot make one of the sessions even if this is on the day of the session itself. When a client has informed us that a session will be missed we will advise the client of any alternative dates available to complete the missed session. Generally catch-up classes can be offered at no extra charge but if the only available catch-up class is after the end of a client’s course we reserve the right to charge £27.50 per session to make the catch-up place available.

In the event that a session is missed without prior notification we may not be able to offer the client alternative dates and any catch-up classes. If we can offer a catch-up class it will be on the same basis as above.
Whole Course.
If after the commencement of the course the client subsequently cancels the remainder of the course the Dealing With Challenges will offer the client a credit towards any other courses/workshops or session(s) on the following basis. The credited amount will be the amount originally paid less the cost of any consultation and classes attended. We also reserve the right to deduct the cost of any classes missed without notification and a small admin charge to cover the cost of any notes/handouts.
C. Cancellation of Foundation Course
One or more sessions:
We would ask all clients to inform us in the event that they cannot make one or more of the sessions even if this is on the day of the session itself. When a client has informed us that a session will be missed we will advise the client of any alternative dates available to complete the missed session. Catch-up sessions may one or more of our Parenting Skills classes and may not be precisely the same as the class missed (this will be explained at the time). Generally catch-up classes can be offered at no extra charge (as long as this does not include any additional sessions to the 4 originally paid for).
In the event that a session is missed without prior notification we may not be able to offer the client alternative dates and any catch-up classes. If we can offer a catch-up class it will be on the same basis as above.
Whole Course.
If prior to the commencement of the course, but after payment of any deposit, the client cancels the course Dealing with Challenges will offer a full refund or credit of the deposit amount as long as the cancellation is received a minimum of 1 week prior to the first session. For cancellations made less than 1 week prior to the start of the course deposits will only be refunded in the event that the place(s) cancelled can be resold.
If after the commencement of the course the client subsequently cancels the remainder of the course the Dealing With Challenges will offer the client a credit towards any other courses/workshops or session(s) on the following basis. The credited amount will be the amount originally paid less the cost of any classes attended. We also reserve the right to deduct the cost of any classes missed without notification and a small admin charge to cover the cost of any notes/handouts.
D. Parent Sessions and Family Sessions.
If clients are unable to attend we ask for a minimum of 24 hours notice of cancellation.
E. School Talks
1. Talks hosted a school where schools or parents are paying directly.
Cancellation of a talk due to insufficient numbers. At the time of booking any school talk a target number of participants will be agreed. In the event it becomes clear that the number of participants attending is likely to fall below the minimum number Dealing with Challenges reserves the right to cancel or postpone the talk and the school. Dealing with Challenges undertakes to keep the school fully informed about this possibility prior to any final decision.
We request 48 hours notice of any cancellation by the parents. Cancellations less than 48 hours prior to the start of the talk would not qualify for a refund.
2. Talks hosted and being paid for any the school.
Where a school is paying Dealing with Challenges directly for a talk (notwithstanding the fact that the school in turn may be charging parents) we request 7 days notice of cancellation by the School.

If the event is canceled by the Dealing with Challenges all deposits will be refunded.
Individual and Business users
Dealing with Challenges site is aimed at individuals and business users world-wide. My services are subject to separate terms and conditions, which are provided when we commence working together. All work is carried out under a formal contract.

PROGRAM ALTERATION

Dealing with Challenges reserve the right to time modify the contents of classes from time to time as we introduce new ideas into the courses.
Dealing with Challenges is also committed to implementing an effective program for each family. Occasionally, this may result in us recommending an alteration to the agreed program. This may require an increase of fees. The alteration of the program will not take place without the agreement of the client but Dealing with Challenges reserves the right to cancel the agreed unaltered program if we feel that the clients’ needs will not be best served by it. In these circumstances the above terms relating to cancellations and refunds will apply.

DAMAGE

Any damage caused by a client or the child of a client or cleaning required as a result of a client’s actions or the actions of a client’s child to the property of Dealing with Challenges or the property of any third party while on the premises of Dealing with Challenges will be charged at full cost to the client.
LIABILITY

Dealing with Challenges accepts no responsibility for the possessions of clients or their children brought on to the premises.
