Can Children Use Family Mediation Services (uk)?
With the consent of parents, it is possible for mediators to talk directly with their children. They benefit by being able to discuss their feelings with someone outside their family. After discussing their feelings, usually those including fears of abandonment, anger and sadness, children can then get back to being children.
This focuses on the needs of the children. Both children and parents are assured that the discussions will be private and confidential between the mediator and the children, unless the children decide otherwise.
